Robert, when you say you get a "failure to connect" message, do you mean the web site or the dome driver? If it is the web site you are having problems with, please take a screen shot of the error page (Pres Alt-PrtScn) then paste it into an email addressed to me - Tim (at) tigranetworks.co.uk. Our web...

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but I think you might be running into a problem with DDW whereby it reports the shutter state as " indeterminate " when it is powered up. To combat this, I added an option called Attempt shutter auto-recovery - when the shutter is indeterminate on connect,...

I've seen this happen (but not on my dome) and I'm not sure what causes it. ACP uses a dual strategy for positioning the dome. When the telescope is slewed, ACP tries to move the dome directly to the target position at that time. Between slews, ACP constantly monitors the dome position and nudges it...

It's been a long time since I trained my dome, but I wouldn;t be too surprised to see odd things happening during the training as long as everything works right after the training. Did you know that you can slave the dome to the scope without running DDWCP at all? Assuming you have the LX-200 adapter...

See my prior post - the current released driver version only supports V4 firmware (yours is V2). The serial command protocol is slightly different between the two versions and that's why you get this error.

Barbara Harris: Here is the repsonse I get with Get info: V2,636,525,1,525,0,0,2,0,521,529,0,0,0,255,0,0,0,0,0,0,999,3,0 Barbara Harris That response indicates that you are using V2 firmware. My ASCOM driver was designed to support V4 firmware. You can obtain a firmware upgrade from Technical Innovations...

Barbara, thanks for posting. You mentioned that you get the same behaviour from both the ASCOm driver and from DDWCP. That seems to suggest it is not a software problem since those two programs are based on completely different serial drivers and runtimes. You also mention that the shutter is controllable...

John, thanks for the report. I must admit, I think I have seen this myself, but I assumed it was down to DDW. Internally, the values reported by the driver all come directly from the status packet received from DDW- none of the valves ave ever modified except for the Azimuth valve as the dome rotates...

First, let me apologise for taking so long to answer this post. The post required moderation and for some reason I did not get notified of that. To answer your question, the .NET Framework 1.1.4322 is the standard released version of Microsoft's .NET Framework version 1.1 - if you have that installed...

I'm interested how people use the ASCOM driver and with what software? I've focussed my testing on ACP as I assume that is how most people will use it, but maybe I'm wrong? [Poll]
